Abolition Meeting & Cookout

Hull House Foundation, in collaboration with Mo’ Better Buffalo, the heritage tourism/historical re-enactment marketing and development company, will host the “Abolition Meeting and Cookout.”  This first-of-its-kind fundraising and awareness-raising event will include:
  • Docent-guided tour of the c. 1810 National Register-listed Hull House currently under restoration.
  • Living History Re-enactment, “Women’s Anti-Slavery Meeting hosted by Sophia Hull.” Sophia Hull was one of the Hulls’ twelve children who lived in the home, and who later was a prominent leader in the Abolition movement.
  • Cookout meal is by authentic Western New York Chef, Dale Holt.  Menu includes:
    • Creole Potato Salad
    • Summer Field Green Salad
    • Holt's Mango Bam Bam BBQ Chicken
    • Down Home Baked Beans
    • Vegetarian Jambalaya
    • Grilled Corn on the Cob
    • Corn Bread
    • Holt's Southern Mint Tea
